The Phlebotomy Technician, generally known as a blood collector, is an individual who performs lab draws or collects blood samples. They generally assist in the collection and transportation of a specimen other than venous blood (arterial blood, urine, tissues, sputum) and may also perform some clinical and technical functions. However, the primary function of the phlebotomist is in assisting the other members of the healthcare team in maintaining the accurate, safe and reliable collection and transportation of specimens for clinical laboratory analyses. This program teaches the student the standard clinical medical laboratory procedures as well as laboratory studies and instructions covering topics like specimen collection, urinalysis, basic office bacteriology, hematology, and chemistry. The study will include all aspects of medical laboratory safety, standard precautional measures, and quality control. They will learn to perform functions like venipuncture and capillary punctures. And above all, students will be equipped with the knowledge to handle various safety and clinical equipment. The duration of the training is 6 weeks for a total of 90 clock hours. There is a $100 deposit to reserve your seat. The remaining balance must be paid in full before clinicals. Guaranteed job placement and training is provided. If Beyond EDU has to reschedule or cancel for any reason, you can transfer your registration fee to another class or session. You can also request a refund.
